On December 30th, Beijing time, multiple foreign media outlets reported that Russian main attacker Fedorovtseva, who plays for the Shanghai Bright Dairies Volleyball Club in the Chinese Volleyball Super League (VSL), unilaterally terminated her contract without the club's knowledge and returned to Fenerbahçe Volleyball Club in Turkey without permission. Fedorovtseva has already boarded a flight to Turkey, bidding farewell to her several months-long stay in China.
It is reported that the reason Fedorovtseva chose to unilaterally terminate her contract is because the Chinese VSL will end on January 31st. This end date does not align well with the transfer deadline for the Turkish Super League (TSL), making it impossible for Fedorovtseva to return to Fenerbahçe, where she previously played, before the end of January to compete in the high-level TSL and the Champions League. Ultimately, she opted to unilaterally "breach" her contract.
Shanghai Bright Dairies Volleyball Club is furious at Fedorovtseva's unprofessional behavior and is preparing to file a complaint with the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) regarding the player's breach of contract. However, unfortunately, even if the complaint is successful, Fedorovtseva would only need to pay the minimum fine to Shanghai Bright Dairies Volleyball Club and would face no disqualification or other penalties.
