China Wins Two Titles at WTT Mascot Station, Japan Claims One

Beijing, January 19th, 2025 - The 2025 WTT Regular Challenge Mascot Station has come to a successful conclusion. China's second-line team won two championships in the men's and women's singles, while Japan's semi-main force team won one championship. In the men's singles final, Chen Yuanyu defeated Japanese player Tomokazu Harimoto 4-2 to claim the title.

The 2025 WTT Star Challenge Doha Station was the first WTT event that the Chinese table tennis team participated in this year, where China won two championships and Japan's Tomokazu Harimoto won the men's singles championship. The 2025 WTT Regular Challenge Mascot Station is another event for the national table tennis team, with Chinese players such as Chen Yuanyu, Xiang Peng, Huang Youzheng, Shi Xunyao, Kuai Man, and Chen Yi participating.

After fierce competition, Shi Xunyao and Kuai Man advanced to the women's singles final, with the former winning the championship 4-0 in the final. On the men's singles side, 19-year-old Chinese youngster Chen Yuanyu reached the final, facing Tomokazu Harimoto in the championship match. In this match, the young Chen Yuanyu played very aggressively, leaving Tomokazu Harimoto helpless. Ultimately, he won the championship with a 4-2 victory.

Despite missing out on the men's singles championship, Tomokazu Harimoto partnered with Matsuhashi Hikaru to win the men's doubles final 3-0 against Zhang You'an/Hong Jingkai.

In this competition, the Chinese women's table tennis team sent three pairs of combinations: Kuai Man/Chen Yi, Tan Yuxuan/Zong Geman, and Shi Xunyao/Wang Xiaotong.

In the round of 16, Kuai Man/Chen Yi reversed their advance by 3-2 against their teammates Shi Xunyao/Wang Xiaotong. In another women's doubles round of 16, Tan Yuxuan/Zong Geman defeated the cross-border combination of Balazova/Helshi 3-0, with the scores being: 11-6, 11-6, 11-7.

In another match, the Hong Kong pair of Zhu Chengzhu/Wu Yonglin defeated the cross-border combination of Todorovic/Mirkadilova 3-0, with the scores being: 11-6, 11-2, 11-4.

In this round, the Japanese pair of Oshino Satsuki/Yokoi Sakura also advanced smoothly. However, in the following matches, Kuai Man/Chen Yi and Tan Yuxuan/Zong Geman were eliminated successively, while Oshino Satsuki/Yokoi Sakura and Zhu Chengzhu/Wu Yonglin advanced to the final. In the championship battle, the former won the championship with a score of 3-1. Additionally, the Chinese pair of Huang Youzheng/Shi Xunyao reached the mixed doubles final but lost 1-3 to the Spanish pair of Robles/Xiao Yaoqi, missing out on the championship.
