Here it is! An NBA Stand-and-Dunk Center Joins the CBA!
In the NBA, there are very few players who can perform a stand-and-dunk, and Boban, standing at 2.24 meters tall, is one of them. With his towering height and long arms, he is akin to a monster on the court. In his games, whenever he has the opportunity to dunk, he does so with ease, delivering an explosive performance. I still remember the look of despair on Anthony Davis' face as he watched Boban raise the ball; he was just too tall.
Despite being fellow Serbian players, while Jokic has already achieved MVP, FMVP, and championship titles, Boban has had a tumultuous career that led him to play overseas.
On February 10, 2023, the Rockets released Boban, but later re-signed him. During the 2023-2024 season, he played in 14 regular-season games before leaving the Rockets. There was a period without any team until he signed with Fenerbahce in Turkey in mid-September 2024, where he was released on December 23, 2024.
Finally, the giant has arrived in the CBA league.
According to Serbian media Mozzart Sport and domestic media personality San Tu Dai Ci, former NBA player Boban Marjanovic has officially joined the Zhejiang Guangsha team of the CBA.
Boban's NBA career spanned nine years, during which he played in 331 regular-season games, averaging 8.7 minutes per game, scoring 5.5 points and grabbing 3.6 rebounds. It is believed that he will have even better performances in the CBA, as he is a presence that even NBA centers fear.
Guangsha team has set its sights on winning the championship this season, and signing Boban is primarily aimed at enhancing the team's rebounding capabilities. Currently, Guangsha's frontcourt already includes players like Hu Jinqiu, and Boban's addition will further strengthen the depth and power of the team's frontcourt, providing more tactical options for key games such as the playoffs.
