In another match, the fifth seed Allen faced the fourth seed Selby. Allen started off with a single shot of 81 points, followed by Selby responding with a single shot of 88 points. After that, Allen made a century break and won four consecutive frames to take a 5-1 lead and get the match point first. Then, Selby hit another shot of 80 points to save one match point, but unfortunately, Allen won the eighth frame with a single shot of 59 points, advancing to the semi-finals with a big score of 6-2.
