Taylor Fritz will donate his prize money from the first round of the Australian Open to the Los Angeles wildfire relief fund.

Due to the wildfires that continue to ravage the Los Angeles area, Taylor Fritz has decided to donate his prize money from the first round of the Australian Open to aid in the relief efforts.

The American player will donate his AUD 132,000 (USD 82,000) to the Los Angeles Wildfire Relief Fund. Fritz was born and raised in California and lived in Los Angeles for a period of time. His friends and family in his hometown have been affected by this ongoing disaster.

Fritz said:

"I feel like it's at least something I can do. California will always be my home. I spent a lot of time in LA and lived there for a long time. My friends were affected, some family had to evacuate. The house where my brothers and I grew up burned down. Obviously, they can't live there anymore."

"A lot of people have been affected. If you have the ability to help, you should lend a hand."

Currently, Fritz has successfully advanced to the third round of the Australian Open. He defeated Garin 3-0 in the second round. In the third round, he will face French veteran Monfils. Last year, Fritz reached the final at the US Open, which is his best result in a Grand Slam event.

This year, Fritz is participating in the Australian Open as the No. 4 seed. We hope he can achieve even greater success!
