Chinese Men's Basketball is currently experiencing a low point, but a group of young stars are emerging. Xun Si'nan, a 17-year-old player who stands at 2.13 meters tall, has recently excelled in high school competitions and is now under the attention of the Chinese Men's Basketball team. The head coach of the Chinese Men's Basketball team, Guo Shiqiang, is currently in the United States to observe players, and Xun Si'nan is one of his targets. Xun Si'nan possesses excellent physical conditions and athletic talent, and his skills are continuously improving. He has already received offers from several prestigious NCAA schools and is currently rated as a four-star high school student. In the future, he is expected to compete in NCAA games and then aim for the NBA.
Xun Si'nan has an arm span of 2.30 meters and is an interior player skilled in defense. He played two seasons at Windermere High School and is currently playing for Georgetown Preparatory High School this season. In a recent high school game, Georgetown Preparatory High School defeated St. Albans High School 81-56, with Xun Si'nan playing 22 minutes, shooting 6 out of 7, making 1 out of 1 three-pointers, and 5 out of 6 free throws, scoring 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 1 assist, with 1 turnover.
In this game, Xun Si'nan had a very high offensive efficiency, scoring a three-pointer shortly after the start. Over the past year, Xun Si'nan has been practicing his three-point shots intensively. During last year's national youth men's basketball training camp, he talked about his plan to become a 3D interior player, which means being able to shoot three-pointers and defend.
Xun Si'nan's plan is wise; current NBA teams prefer this type of center, needing big men who can create space and also protect the basket.
In this battle, Xun Si'nan demonstrated diversity on the offensive end. He was very agile under the basket, with a second-chance offensive dunk for a 2+1, dribbling from beyond the three-point line to score inside, and also scoring easily under the basket by catching and finishing. Xun Si'nan also had a relatively high free throw percentage in this game, missing only one out of six attempts.
In the previous game, Georgetown Preparatory High School lost 63-68 to Highland High School, but he still performed well, scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 blocks, shooting 6 out of 7, 1 out of 1 three-pointers, and 2 out of 2 free throws.
From these two games, it can be seen that Xun Si'nan's shooting has indeed improved, with good performances in both three-pointers and free throws. Of course, the current sample size of games is still somewhat small.
Xun Si'nan has already received offers from six NCAA Division I conference teams, including the University of Alabama, University of Florida, University of Illinois, Mississippi State University, Creighton University, and Pennsylvania State University.
In 2023, Xun Si'nan represented China's U16 men's basketball team in the U16 Men's Basketball Asian Cup, averaging 10.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 3.7 blocks per game, ranking first in average blocks in the tournament. In 2024, Xun Si'nan participated in the U17 Men's Basketball World Cup but suffered an injury during the group stage. In the 2024 U18 Men's Basketball Asian Cup, Xun Si'nan helped China's U18 men's basketball team win third place.
Guo Shiqiang has already visited Cui Yongxi, who is recovering, and watched Zhao Weilun and Wang Junjie's games on-site. Next, he will evaluate high school players like Xun Si'nan and Xun Sifeng. Looking forward to Xun Si'nan's continued transformation in the future!
