In July 2022, the Ministry of Education held the inaugural China Youth Football League, which became an excellent platform for young players of various age groups to showcase their talents.
In the second edition of the China Youth Football League (CYFL) in 2023, a young prodigy who once shone in Shenzhen's youth football scene successfully emerged as the absolute mainstay, sweeping both the Best Player and Top Scorer awards!
The CYFL has now hosted three editions, and one of the most impressive players is undoubtedly Han Kundu from 2023.
In the 2023 CYFL, Han Kundu played as the absolute mainstay for Guangzhou U19A throughout the U19 group matches, scoring an impressive nine goals for his team, earning him both the CYFL Top Scorer and Best Player awards!
As one of the current 2005 generation of talented players in Chinese football, Han Kundu can play multiple positions in the midfield, with delicate footwork, solid fundamentals, and excellent ball control. He excels at controlling the rhythm, making one-on-one breakthroughs, dribbling forward, creating offensive threats upfront, and possesses a fine touch for set pieces in the frontcourt.
Before 2018, Han Kundu was an absolute mainstay in Shenzhen, representing Yucai No. 1 Primary School, Nanshan District, and Shenzhen City, winning numerous championships at the district, municipal, and national levels. He is a highly regarded football prodigy from Shenzhen, dreaming of playing for the national team.
In 2018, Han Kundu joined Evergrande Football School's 05 squad and traveled to Evergrande's Spanish branch school for further education that same year. During this time, he participated in training and competitions in countries such as Japan, Portugal, and Denmark. In 2020, he returned to China and was promoted to the 04 squad at Evergrande Football School, where he played a key role in professional matches and won multiple championships. In 2021, he represented the team as a main player in the Guangdong Provincial Championship, securing the title.
During the 21-22 season, Han Kundu embarked on his European journey, being loaned to the U19A team and adult team of Morata de Ebro Sports School in Spain, gaining recognition from local coaches and players.
In the 2023 CYFL, as an absolute mainstay, he represented Guangzhou U19A and won the CYFL Top Scorer and Best Player awards, having been selected multiple times for the national youth elite training camp.
In 2024, he was selected for the Guangzhou first team and was loaned to Haikou Mingcheng first team the same year, helping the team successfully avoid relegation.
Han Kundu, the MVP of the second CYFL, has already set sail on his professional football career, and his future is worth looking forward to!
