Araujo wants to demand a huge contract renewal, even though he has risen in status within the team over the years and become a key defensive player. However, due to his fragile physique, Araujo often gets injured and needs rest, so Barcelona must consider his absences if they want him to be the core of their defense. Therefore, Barcelona is not keen on giving him a top-tier contract renewal.
Araujo has made it clear that he will leave in the winter transfer window. Juventus has now stepped in to try and sign Araujo. Barcelona is willing to sell the player for just 45 million euros in the winter window. Once Juventus completes the signing, their defense will be secure for the next 10 years. Barcelona will lose this talented defender they have cultivated for many years.
