The famous football city of Dalian has finally gained another Super League team, Dalian Inbo, who have just been promoted from the China League One. To perform well in the new season of the Super League, Dalian Inbo Club has introduced several new players during the winter transfer window, among whom the joining of former Tianjin Tiger captain Song Yue has received particular attention.
The 33-year-old Song Yue started his career at Jiangsu Suning's football youth training system and entered Tianjin Hehai University in 2010 as a football talent. During his time at university, Song Yue excelled in the Chinese College Football League, demonstrating not only a tough playing style and comprehensive skills but also representing the Chinese college football team at the 28th World University Games, where he performed commendably.
After graduating from Hehai University, Song Yue officially began his professional career. He has played for teams such as Suzhou Dongwu and Nantong Zhiyun, gradually accumulating valuable match experience. In the 2020 season, Song Yue experienced an important turning point in his career by joining Tianjin Teda (Tianjin Jinmen Tiger). After the 2021 season, Song Yue transferred to Sichuan Longcheng, but after only one season, he returned to Tianjin, joining the newly revived Tianjin Jinmen Tiger.
During his time with the Jinmen Tigers, Song Yue won the trust of head coach Yu Genwei with his outstanding performance and was awarded the captain's armband. However, due to an impulsive behavior, Song Yue quickly lost his position in the team. In a Super League match in the 2022 season, Song Yue openly challenged coach Yu Genwei's authority after being dissatisfied with being substituted early, resulting in a suspension by the club, which became the catalyst for his departure from the Jinmen Tigers.
In the 2023 season, Song Yue left the Tianjin team again. He joined Sichuan Jiuniu, although he occasionally had impressive performances, he never managed to recreate his peak state with the Jinmen Tigers. Last season, Song Yue represented the newly promoted Shenzhen Xinpengcheng in the Super League, with an average overall performance. After his contract expired, Song Yue did not receive a renewal offer from the club and was notified to leave.
Fortunately, with the arrival of 2025, Song Yue's career seems to have welcomed a new opportunity. Dalian Inbo recognized Song Yue's rich Super League experience and signed a two-year contract with him. Currently, Dalian Inbo already has capable central defenders like Jin Pengxiang and Mamadou, and with Song Yue's addition, the defensive line will be further strengthened.
Jin Pengxiang and Mamadou have both played for Beijing Guoan. Last season, Mamadou was the main central defender for Guoan and had a very good partnership with Engadu. However, since it is rare for Super League teams to have two foreign central defenders at the same time, Mamadou did not receive a renewal offer from the Guoan club after his contract expired, but he quickly found a new home in the Super League - Dalian Inbo.
Mamadou's abilities are beyond doubt, and it is believed that he can form a good partnership with Song Yue and Jin Pengxiang. In the new season, Dalian Inbo's defense will become even more stable. It can be said that Song Yue's arrival has brought rich experience to Dalian Inbo's defense. As an experienced veteran who has gone through ups and downs, Song Yue's mental quality and stress resistance will play an important role in the relegation battle. His joining can help young players better cope with match pressure and help them grow quickly.
Here, we also hope that Song Yue can cherish this opportunity to join Dalian Inbo, strive to secure a starting position in the team, rejuvenate in the league, and open a new chapter in his career.
