The latest CBA standings have been released after the first five games of Round 23 of the regular season, with teams like Zhejiang, Shandong, and Shanghai leading the charge. Zhejiang easily defeated Shenzhen, propelling them to second place in the standings. Currently, the top two spots in the CBA standings are occupied by Zhejiang teams. Shandong defeated Tianjin and also advanced to the top four, ranking fourth in the standings. After victories by Shandong and Qingdao, reigning champions Liaoning were pushed down to seventh place, while Beijing slipped to eighth.

The top of the CBA standings is currently in a state of flux. Guangsha, at the top with a record of 19 wins and 3 losses, remains firmly in first place, with their position relatively stable for the time being, as no other team has been able to challenge them. The teams ranked second to fifth in the standings have relatively close records. After this round of victories, Zhejiang's record became 17 wins and 6 losses, catapulting them to second place. Shanxi follows closely behind with a record of 17 wins and 5 losses. Shandong, after defeating Tianjin, improved their record to 16 wins and 7 losses, also advancing to fourth place.

Xinjiang occupies the fifth spot in the standings with a record of 17 wins and 4 losses. Despite playing two fewer games, they still hold onto fifth place, which is quite an achievement. Qingdao is in sixth place with a record of 15 wins and 8 losses. Defending champions Liaoning have a record of 15 wins and 7 losses. With victories by both Shandong and Qingdao, Liaoning dropped directly to seventh place in the standings. Beijing is in eighth place with a record of 15 wins and 6 losses.

Guangdong, the 11-time champions, are in ninth place with a record of 12 wins and 10 losses, gradually falling behind the top eight teams. However, the teams behind them are eyeing their position hungrily. Beikong currently has the same record as Guangdong, also 12 wins and 10 losses, placing them tenth in the standings. Tongxi, in eleventh place, also has a record of 12 wins and 10 losses. The playoff gatekeeper is Shanghai, who after defeating Beikong at home, improved their record to 11 wins and 10 losses. This ten-game winning streak has made them the biggest dark horse in the league, and their push for the top eight is imminent.

Jilin, in thirteenth place, has a record of 9 wins and 13 losses, having fallen two wins behind Shanghai. In the short term, Jilin should have no chance of catching up to the top twelve. Fourteenth and fifteenth places belong to Tianjin and Ningbo, with records of 7 wins and 16 losses, also four wins behind Shanghai. Sichuan and Guangzhou have only 6 wins and 16 losses, ranking sixteenth and seventeenth. Shenzhen is in eighteenth place with a record of 5 wins and 18 losses, while the last two spots are held by Jiangsu and Fujian, with records of 3 wins and 20 losses, and 1 win and 21 losses respectively.
