Additionally, at the beginning of 2025, Yu Genwei has brought continuous surprises in terms of new signings and reinforcements for Tianjin Tigers. The club has completed new contracts with Guo Hao, Shi Yan, and Yan Bingliang, who will continue to play for the team in the CSL and FA Cup.
Guo Hao is a standout from the Tianjin Tigers' 93 youth training program, alongside Li Yuan, Wang Qiuming, and Yang Zexiang, mainly playing as a defensive midfielder. Known for his willingness to do the dirty work, he has been likened to Kanté in the CSL. After Tianjin Tigers faced an operational crisis, Guo Hao transferred to Cangzhou Mighty Lions, which led to some fans expressing dissatisfaction, believing that he did not stand with the club during tough times.
Coach Yu Genwei, however, was not bothered by this and still invited Guo Hao when the team needed reinforcement in the defensive midfield position. The saying "Opportunity favors the prepared mind" applies well to Guo Hao's situation. Since returning to Tianjin Tigers, he has reached new heights in his career, earning recognition from many fans. Therefore, renewing the contract with Guo Hao was a reasonable decision.
Shi Yan is a top talent from Luneng's 02 youth training program and was once considered the best forward of his age group. Unfortunately, he encountered injuries at crucial moments and failed to establish himself in the Tai Shan team. Coach Yu Genwei recognized Shi Yan's potential and provided him with stable playing time. Shi Yan became a substitute ace for Tianjin Tigers and has played a pivotal role in turning around games.
Considering Shi Yan is in his prime, it is reasonable for Tianjin Tigers to renew the contract with this ace striker. Yan Bingliang, a goalkeeper with European experience, is seen as the successor to Fang Jingqi at Tianjin Tigers. Despite limited playing time, he has impressed fans with his performances.
We hope that after completing these three significant signings, Tianjin Tigers can continue to achieve good results in the next season of the CSL and FA Cup.
