In response, teammate Zhao Zihao self-funded his own training sessions with Fan Zhendong. However, due to not being part of the national table tennis plan, Zhao Zihao was often stopped at the entrance of competitions and had to purchase his own tickets to watch and support Fan Zhendong.
Furthermore, the Shanghai team took on the responsibility of Fan Zhendong's logistical support, covering all expenses including on-site match tickets, accommodation, meals, and other costs.
