In fact, Liaoning Basketball had already prepared Patton's registration materials, so the registration process is just a matter of minutes. Normally speaking, Patton can make his debut for Liaoning Basketball in the game against Beijing Shougang on the evening of January 1st.
The official announcement from Liaoning Basketball is as follows:
[Welcome Justin Patton to the Liaoning Basketball Family] Justin Patton (born June 14, 1997) arrived in Shenyang last night. After completing the signing and relevant tests in accordance with regulations, and after being reviewed by the CBA company, Patton will officially become a registered player of Liaoning Bensteel and represent Liaoning Basketball in this season's CBA league. Justin Patton, who stands at 211 cm tall and weighs 109 kg, plays as a center. In the 2017 NBA draft, Justin Patton was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round as the 16th pick. Throughout his NBA career, Justin Patton has played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Houston Rockets. In the 2023-2024 season, Justin Patton briefly played for the Shanxi Fenjiu professional basketball club in the CBA. Before coming to China, Patton played in the Greek league.
Last season, Patton only played four games for the Shanxi team. In his debut against Guangdong Hongyuan, he played for 18 minutes, scoring 4 points, grabbing 7 rebounds, assisting 3 times, stealing 2 times, and blocking 4 shots.
Against Tianjin, he played for 19 minutes, scoring 16 points, grabbing 9 rebounds, assisting once, stealing twice, and blocking once.
Against Liaoning, he played for 16 minutes, scoring 4 points, grabbing 4 rebounds, assisting once, and blocking once.
Against Beijing Shougang, he played for 11 minutes, scoring 2 points, grabbing 8 rebounds, assisting twice, and stealing once.
During his tenure with the Shanxi team, Patton averaged 16 minutes per game, contributing 6.5 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1.3 steals, and 1.5 blocks. Although such statistics may seem insignificant among CBA foreign players, his efficiency is very high, directly comparable to not losing out to Morand. This is already enough for Liaoning Basketball.
Without further ado, let's all look forward to Patton's debut against Beijing Shougang! Are you excited?
